New insights into the work of Käthe Kollwitz
The Käthe Kollwitz Museum Köln has the worldwide largest collection of the artist’s works and one of its objectives is to open up new access paths to her art and to illustrate the high artistic quality of her drawings, graphic art and sculptural works. The focal points of this research activity are – along with the publication of catalogues on special exhibitions – the editing and updating of the catalogues raisonnées. This is the groundwork for all further research.
In March 2016, the first catalogue raisonée of Kollwitz’ sculptural work was published by Hirmer Verlag, Munich. The corresponding online catalogue was published in May 2016 - and the first update in February 2019. Read more
In 2002, the two-volume catalogue raisonnée of her graphic works was published by Galerie Kornfeld Verlag, Bern, in a completely revised edition.Read more
Kollwitz’ catalogue raisonnée of drawings is currently being edited and complemented by Hannelore Fischer, former Director of the Käthe Kollwitz Museum Köln.

The Käthe Kollwitz Museum Köln has the most comprehensive photo archive on the artist, which includes photographs from family albums that were left to the Cologne Kollwitz Collection by the artist’s heirs.Read more
