The Käthe Kollwitz Museum in Cologne has a huge number of private family portraits as the Kreissparkasse Köln, the museum’s sponsor, acquired the core collection from the artist’s estate. This collection comprises a large number of drawings of Kollwitz’ sons and grandchildren. Drawings of her son Hans and her grandchildren as infants have also been preserved.
